According to The Old Farmer's Almanac (TOFA) for 2012, the Winter of 2011-2012 will once again be cold and snowy along the Atlantic Seaboard from Northeastern North Carolina to Maine (including Eastern Virginia, the Delmarva Peninsula, Southeastern Pennsylvania, all of New Jersey, Eastern New York, and New England).
Highlights of TOFA's forecast include a mid-December snowstorm (December 17-20), a late January blizzard (January 30-31), and snowy periods interspersed throughout the winter season. Temperatures will average 4 to 5 degrees below normal during February and March.
The cities of Philadelphia (123" of snow during the last two winter seasons), New York (113" of snow during the last two winter seasons), and Boston (116" of snow during the last two winter seasons) should once again experience above-normal snowfall.
